This area is so new that the road didn't show up on my GPS. There is metered on-street parking and also a parking garage further up the street. According to the bartender, the first 3 hours are free.
You order at the counter, pay for your food, and if you ordered a soda, you have to get back here for it.
There is a big bar with lots of seating, that nobody used? You can see the meats being sliced off the rotisserie in the back.
I had to go with the Original Gyro ($9). "Authentic Greek rotisserie (100% lean pork) wrapped in a warm flatbread with tomato, onion, and tzatziki sauce (low-fat cucumber yogurt)". I also got the tzatziki on the side since I'm not too fond of yogurt. The flatbread was super fresh, and soft and the pork was really tasty and well seasoned. The diced tomatoes and onions was an expertly executed brunoise. The tzatziki turned out to be very tasty and not too yogurty. This was very nice lunch but it didn't beat Brothers Kouzina, where you get fries included for a couple of dollars more.

Yes, but you don't have to drive to Peabody, which is a huge bonus. :-D
ReplyDeleteI am a big Zo fan; great to know they have a Somerville location! Just to clarify, it did not start with food trucks. It has brick and mortar stores in Government Center and on State Street, and as far as I can recall I've been visiting both locations for at least a decade. The truck wasn't added into the mix until maybe four or five years ago.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the clarification, obviously I didn't do my homework.
