Phinix Grill Belmont

Phinix Grill in Belmont is located in what used to be the Andros Diner, that was a landmark on Trapelo Road.

There is on-street free parking but not in abundance.

The interior was spotless with a warm Mediterranean color scheme.

I decided to try the Shish-Kebab lunch plate with Lamb ($10.99). "Juicy meat chunks roasted on a chargrill and nestled on a plate with rice, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onions and homemade Tzatziki sauce, sprinkled with cilantro. Garlic sauce upon request". This was a smallish plate. The rice was cooked really nice and the salad was fresh but the only dressing was the garlic sauce that was on the sweet side. The Tzatziki sauce was nice and mild. The lamb had nice char marks but wasn't the most tender lamb that I have encountered but was still OK. They also serve Shwarma/Gyro and the menu implies that it's roasted on a vertical rotisserie but I really doubt that a place that serves frozen crinkle cut fries actually does this. Service was nice and pleasant.
