Taipei Gourmet Lexington

I rarely blog about Taipei Gourmet in Lexington since I go here about every two weeks for lunch. I really like this place, and they have a decent lunch menu. Their Noodle Soups are excellent as are the Rice Plates. The dumplings, including the Soup dumplings, are terrific. Sometimes I just have a couple of Taiwanese appetizers. 

They have private parking. It's an interesting crowd at lunch. Half of the customers are beef & broccoli and the other half are eating the good stuff.

It's a square room, and they have done what they can with the inside. You get linen tablecloth, even at lunch. I have been working on getting linen napkins but to no avail. Ewa, the owner, is as nice as can be.

Not another picture of a Hot & Sour Soup! Well, this one deserves a picture since it's one of the best around and it's a proper hot and sour soup. It even has shitake mushrooms in it for more umami.

One of my favorite lunch dishes is the Lunch Special Flounder Fish with Szechuan Sauce ($8.24) ordered extra spicy. Ordering extra spicy now gets me sliced bird-eyes chilis. The fish is of good quality and always cooked perfectly. It's also a very decent sized portion. There is absolutely nothing in the dish that has anything to do with Sichuan, but it's very tasty. The service is always very friendly, and the waitress has been there for forever.
