They again loaded up my card with $10 off, so I headed out to Tavern in the Square in Burlington for their New Years Day brunch. I also have a free birthday appetizer during January.
The parking lot was almost full on this beautiful day.
The brunch today was $24.95, and it was a very extensive brunch. Breakfast items to the right with three different Egg Bennys. Lots of bread and pastry. Good stuff straight on, Mexican food to the left. To my left was more brunch items, like waffles, etc.
The carving station and omelets are made to order. You get a slip at the table that you bring up, and they will deliver the omelet when ready.
Lobster Mac from the good stuff section. Not sure how much lobster was involved but lots of salt was present. The Crispy Rosemary potatoes weren't crispy but cooked well. The ribeye was tender and overcooked, and the promised smoked part was absent.
Next trip yielded a pork rib, maple glazed sausage, bacon, buffalo chicken eggs benedict and brisket hash. I took the EB because they just replenished that tray, but the EB was stone cold. The sausage was good, the bacon was chewy. The brisket hash was the star of the day. Tasty with perfect potatoes and excellent brisket.
Last trip. They replenished the scrambled eggs that were a tad to dry for me. The maple glazed sausages lacked maple, and I even rolled them around in the bottom of the pan. Did I say that the hash was excellent?
