Opa Greek Yeeros Somerville

Opa Greek Yeeros is located just off Davis Square in Somerville with both street parking and a private lot on the side. I managed to park in the only reserved spot, and while fixing this, I completely forgot to take a picture of the outside. The outside wasn't very exciting anyway.

The inside is small with seating for eight. They use an electric shaver to slice the meat off the spits.

What is this? A cup of foam? No this is the Chicken Avgolemono Soup ($2.95). It was delicious and loaded with chicken and rice. They make it fresh and the foam if from the added eggs that get beaten until foamy. Never seen it like this before.

On the owner's recommendation, I went for the traditional Pork Yeero Pita ($8.45). "Seasoned rotisserie Pork wrapped in a warm Pita Bread with Tzatziki Sauce, Tomato, Red Onions, Fries and Parsley". Tzatziki on the side, please. The fries were good, but I don't like them in the sandwich, so I quickly polished them off. The pita was warm and fluffy, and the pork was tasty and tender. Both the tomato and the onion was thinly sliced, and I really like that. The tzatziki was delicious and not too strongly tasting of yogurt. This was a really nice gyro.
