Wasabi (annoying and slow website) in Natick is located in the Natick mall and of course, as far away as possible from where I entered the mall.
This is Keitan style Japanese food with a conveyor belt moving the food around. Plenty of seating and not very busy at lunch time.
This is what it looks like after you are seated. There is waitress service and you can also order from the menu. All the dishes are color coded and the prices range from $3.50 to $5. After sitting there looking for something edible for quite a while, I finally had to give up and ordered from the waitress. Most of what passed by were rolls, with either cooked items or vegetarian items with a few item with raw fish. There was also a few apps. Everything was clearly labeled, so that was nice, a Chefs Special passed by and I had no idea what it was.
Nigiri Salmon ($3.50). The fish was just OK but the rice was light and at the right temp but could have done with more proper seasoning.
Seared Salmon ($4.00) with spicy red pepper coulis. It was OK.
Crawfish Salad ($4.00) with crawfish, mayo, wasabi & tobiko. This was actually the best dish, very nice and tasty. It was served with a slice of cucumber that had seen better days, especially yesterday.
Finally, some Nigiri started to show up but this was quite typical, the slices weren't cut from the same piece of tuna. Even if the AYCE offerings at Sakura in Winchester is a little bit more money it's still way better value for the money. Been here, tried it.
