It's quite a big building. There is metered on-street parking. I find it strange that a place like this actually has metered parking.
This time I took a seat in the bar, and it was a better choice. Notice the trophies up right.
Here is the aforementioned Fried Chicken Basket ($19 on the online menu, $17 on the downloaded menu and in the restaurant). "House-made battered chicken thighs, fermented honey hot sauce". For my sides, I went with the Pimento Mac & Cheese and Crinkle-Cut French Fries. The Mac and Cheese still weren't as creamy as I would have liked and it also must have been sitting for a while since the top part was cold. The fries were previously frozen with some seasoning sprinkled on. I got four boneless thighs that were cooked nicely, but I would have liked the batter to be crunchier (think popeyes, shh). The honey hot sauce was missing on the first piece but the second one had a patch of it. It really should have been on all of the chicken and not just in one spot.
Address: 325 Assembly Row, Somerville, MA 02145 Phone: (617) 623-7427
All of Assembly Row used to have free parking, but then it became popular and they decided that they could start charging. The garages are free for 3 hours, but you have to swipe a credit card to get in. There's also a big open parking lot in the older area; that's free for 3 hours, but you have to find a space, and they may tow you after 3 hours.
ReplyDeleteThanks much. I didn't know about the three hours free in the parking garage.
DeleteThe mac and cheese looks dismal and unappealing. I appreciate that you take very good pictures that show the food quality in detail. Often blogs try to make food look magazine perfect. You show opened up plates (like tacos) and long - shots of the food. It really helps me decide if I want to try a restaurant or not.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to try "fermented honey" chicken and may give this place a shot.
Thank you for your kind reply.
