The Treasury Burlington

The Treasury - Indian and Greek Kitchen in Burlington opened at the absolutely worst time before the pandemic started. They closed quickly and then reopened for takeout, and now they are fully open for dining in. This was my first dining-in in a long time. 06/28/21

They are in the Wayside Commons, so there is plenty of parking. In addition to their very nice patio, there is also seating at the front of the building.

A very nice and elegant dining room. Another room behind me will become a Greek dining room later. Both cuisines are available in the dining room. Chatting with the manager, he indicated that big changes are coming to the menu.

I'm now using my gift cards that were purchased with my stimulus checks. I decided to splurge a bit for my lunch today. I picked the Lamb Shanks with Rogan Josh ($22 now $28) served with basmati rice. Despite what the menu said, it was only one shank. There was a good amount of the excellent Dehliwale Chole underneath. Be aware that their medium is borderline spicy. The lamb shank, yes it's in there, was excellent, very tender and tasty. Their basmati rice is fabulous, fragrant, and with every grain separated. 06/28/21

Not sure what their forks are from, I find it impossible to use them in a civilized manner. They work fine upside down 😁.

Kheema Ladi Pav ($20) is a new item on the lunch menu. "Peppery curry dish made with minced lamb cooked with onion, tomatoes, ginger, garlic and earthy spices! Served with lightly toasted buns with butter". They forgot to mention the fried egg that was actually expertly fried with a crispy bottom. Unfortunately, the top was way uncooked and snotty. The toasted buns weren't toasted, and the only butter present was lightly brushed on the top. The dish itself was excellent, peppery, and really well seasoned. It was also a huge serving of tasty lamb. This is like an Indian Sloppy Joe, but 1000 times better than the original. Be aware that this dish contains whole spices. I picked out the star anise but bit into both the clove and the cardamom. 07/19/21

Due to the increasing cost of the raw material, the menu prices have seriously gone up. However, this is to be expected, and it's the same everywhere.

Lunch Combo (was $16 now $20). Pick two entrees with rice or naan. The pleasant little salad that used to accompany my lunch is now gone. I picked the DELHIWALE CHOLE. "Curried chickpeas cooked with spices, onion, tomato." This is an excellent dish that packs a fair amount of heat. Very very tasty and a favorite of mine. My other choice was the DELHI BUTTER CHICKEN. "Boneless barbeque chicken cooked in a creamy cashew and tomato sauce." The shredded chicken was wonderful and very tender. The sauce was excellent, creamy, well seasoned with a hint of heat. I have never got a pat of butter on top 😋. Of course you get linen napkins and white tablecloths. It's nice to see salt and pepper shakers back on the table. As of now, they are opening for lunch at 11. I really like to arrive for lunch at 11:45, so everything is now copacetic again. 08/09/21

To see the Grek menu, you have to go HERE.

Souvlaki Plate ($15). "Seasoned lamb/chicken/mix-grill cubed and skewered on a stick, cooked over open flame, served over bed of basmati rice or warm pita bread with house-made greek sauce, french fries, chef's salad." The promised greek sauce failed to materialize. The fries were fantastic, coated and seasoned. The pita bread was fresh and nicely grilled. The little salad was well seasoned and super fresh. The lamb was ordered rare to medium rare and arrived medium. The lamb was still tender and not dried out and was seasoned really well. It was also a generous serving of lamb. 08/18/21

The service here has always been impeccable and friendly.
