They are located smack in the middle of downtown so parking can be iffy, but there is a big parking garage close by and it was only 75 cents an hour.
The inside was so Salem with a big bar, exposed bricks, and artworks on the walls. There was also a band playing.
I started with the OPUS CLAM CHOWDER (9). "Applewood smoked bacon, chives & house Tabasco crackers". The chowder was tasty but was light on content, but the clams were tender.
It was a hard choice between the Chorizo Hash and Eggs, and the Crispy Pork Belly Tacos (13) but the tacos won. "Corn tortillas, pork belly, agave sambal, pineapple salsa, avocado, crunchy cabbage & cilantro". The pork belly was crispy from the pan but I expected crispy crackling. The pork belly was tender, and the whole taco was excellent with a nice texture from all the crunchy bits. The menu labels items that are gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan. Many of the regular dishes can be made gluten-free. Opus now offers $1 Oysters and five of their most popular appetizers for just $5 each, 5 - 6 PM Monday - Thursday.
