Twyrl Pasta Bistro in Arlington opened recently in Arlington center, and they serve pasta, salads and sandwiches.
It's a small restaurant. There is metered parking close by, but there is also free parking on the nearby side streets.
This is it with the kitchen in the back. They also have a few tables outside.
No, you don't get linen napkins at lunch unless you get there before they change them to paper napkins. You get bread and a dipping oil. The dipping oil was just oil with cheese and pepper flakes. The bread was on the dense side. Good silverware, but plastic glasses.
I went with their signature dish, Spaghetti Carbonara ($13.99). "Specialty of the House! Rich & creamy with a sharp bacon flavor. Pancetta, egg & Parmigiano Reggiano". The pasta itself was excellent and cooked al dente but lacked salt. There wasn't nearly enough pancetta to make up for the lack of salt. I would expect a lot more pancetta for $14. As for the carbonara itself, I would have liked more of it and that it was thicker, so it would stick to the pasta. They get bonus points for bringing the CC reader to the table.
