Boston Dine Out aka Restaurant Week starts today and Davio'S in Lynnfield are doing it right. Not only do they have different dishes every time, but they also have different dishes each week.
They have a pleasant patio, but it was a bit too windy today.
It's a very elegant dining room with the open kitchen in the back.
Now you get some nice Foccacia with a nice olive oil for dipping. No more Cinamon Popover just because they serve brunch.
I had the mussels before, and they were fantastic, so I went for the Sautéed Mussels with Lemon, Garlic, White Wine, Croutons. Again, the mussels were outstanding, plump and tender, and the sauce was also delightful. The croutons were excellent, crispy but still tender.
Hand-Rolled Potato Gnocchi, Braised Beef Short Rib, Organic Mushrooms and Parmigiano. The Gnocchi was light as a feather, haven't had this excellent gnocchi in a long time. The sauce and the mushrooms were super tasty, but there was no trace of the short ribs unless they had completely dissolved in the excellent sauce.
Chocolate Crème Brulee, Chocolate Covered Espresso Bean was sinfully tasty. Very crisp on top, and Oh soo smooth underneath. What a delicious treat this was. I'll be back next week for the different menu.
We had our wedding luncheon at Davio's. Everything was fantastic....food and service is always on point.
