California Pizza Kitchen Lynnfield

Back in the days, I tried the frozen pizzas from California Pizza Kitchen, because they looked good, and was cheap and often on sale. Regardless of how well I followed the instructions, they always come out tasting like cardboard with chicken that was dry, so I finally gave up on them.

The inside is nice and bright with an open kitchen.

The big bar area with high tops and outside seating.

I went with the Lunch Duo ($11.95). I started with the BAKED POTATO SOUP. "Purée of potato with Nueske’s applewood smoked bacon and scallions". This time the soup arrived first, and it was pretty tasty, but the potato cubes were all mushy, and they weren't peeled. It was tasty. The bread was stale, and even the cut sides were dried out. Not freshly sliced. The dipping oil was very tasty.

The Original BBQ Chicken Pizza. "Created here in 1985. Our legendary BBQ sauce, smoked Gouda, red onions and fresh cilantro transform this original to iconic". I wouldn't go so far as calling it iconic, but it's way better than the frozen variety. Putting a blob of BBQ sauce on each slice doesn't really work.
The suggested tip is calculated including the tax.
