Asian Gourmet Concord

Not too many places open on New Years Day but you can always count on the hardworking Asian population to have their restaurants open. I like Asian Gourmet in Concord so that was my destination for this sunny day.



Squid with Basil Leaves was the choice today amid numerous Taiwanese families complete with screaming children and grandparents but I kind of expected that. The squid was perfectly cooked, crunchy and tender and pleasantly spicy with crunchy bits of something on the bottom. I was happy to see that you also get the tentacles since they are the best part.
