Toraya Arlington

Time for another visit to the minuscule Toraya in Arlington to see what else there is on the lunch menu. I tend to stick to a couple of things here and need to branch out a bit.

Tempura Udon or Soba Noodle Soup ($8.50). Noodle soup with shrimp tempura, Japanese wheat noodles or Buckwheat noodles. I went with the wheat noodles (Udon) since they are a favorite with me. The Shrimp Tempura come out sticking up out of the soup, so the ends were soft, kind of defeats the concept of tempura, but the shrimp was big and the rest of the batter was nice and crisp. The broth was pleasant, but a dash or two of the Togarashi livened things up a bit. This was again a very enjoyable lunch.
