Waxy O'Connor's Woburn

Waxy O'Connor's in Woburn is located conveniently close to 93. St Patricks are coming up next week, so I stopped by to see what's going on and also for some lunch. They already have five area locations and they will be opening a new location with their updated concept just outside of Kenmore Square on Beacon Street.

Lot's of off street parking as available. They have live music every evening except Tuesdays and there are lots of things happening during the week of St Patrick's.

ST. PATRICKS WEEK AT WAXY O’CONNOR'S:
  • Irish Whiskey Tasting
  • Guinness Pour the Perfect Pint
  • Guinness Glass Engravings
  • Corned Beef & Cabbage, Bangers & Mash, Irish Stew
  • Live Traditional Music
You can check out what happening at your local Waxy's HERE. I know that the Woburn location will have a Whisky & Legends tasting on the 14th. You can find the sign-up information on their Web page. There is also info on the individual Facebook pages.

Nice large bar imported from Ireland as is the floor boards.

More seating in the back and there is also booths next to the windows plus more seating areas away from the bar.

A Guinness ($6) was expertly drawn by Scott, the bartender. I haven't had a Guinness in a long time and this one was delicious.

I started with the CORNED BEEF & CABBAGE ROLLS ($10.49). "Corned beef, cabbage, Jack cheese, potato in a crispy wonton, with sweet chili sauce for dipping" and I also got some Guinness Mustard that was delicious. The rolls themselves was very tasty with some nice crunch from the cabbage.

It's almost St Patrick's day so I had to go for the GUINNESS BEEF STEW ($14.99). "Tender slow-cooked beef with root vegetables in a rich Guinness gravy." The veggies were cooked nicely and the beef was tasty and tender with a really rich and tasty gravy. It was also a seriously big portion. I have had their LAMB SHEPHERD’S PIE at their Lexington location and it was also very good.
