Ming's Seafood Malden

Ming's Seafood in Malden opened in February on the very busy Plesant Street and this was my first visit to check out their lunch offerings.

There is only on-street parking and it can be hard to find a spot since Pleasant Street is littered with restaurants. I lucked out and found a spot just outside and parking in Malden is free.

The inside was nice and bright and fairly busy at lunch today. Obligatory fish tank in the back. Trivia: This is Picture #5000 since I bought the refurbished Canon S110 in Jan of '15.

It turns out that they don't do lunch but they do Dim-Sum from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and then they serve from the regular menu. They had three carts going around, actually four but the fourth one was for liquid foods, like congee, etc. The selection was pretty good with all the usual suspects available.

The beef meatball with the accompanying black vinegar was good and tasty.

Shrimp dumplings with perfectly cooked shrimp and with a nice thin wrapper were also tasty.

The must have pork spare ribs with black beans is always a favorite and it didn't disappoint.

Perfectly executed shumai that had the required shrimp on top was delightful. Not sure what the item prices were but I got charged for two medium ($3.35 each) and two large ($3.85 each). All the dishes was good sized and I have plenty of leftovers but I think I prefer Yong Yong in Malden for Dim-Sum since there you order from a menu and the items are brought out to you fresh and they start at $2.99 during the week. Parking is also much easier on Ferry Street.
