TWK Winchester

I have been curious about the burger at The Waterfield Kitchen in Winchester since I first saw it on the menu. Armed with a voucher from Livingsocial I set out to explore it.

I started with the VOLCANO ROLL ($20). "Seasoned crab meat, cucumber, avocado, baked scallop, crabmeat, shrimp, scallions, spicy mayo topped with tempura flakes & micro greens". It's a bit hard to see the Maki since everything was covered by the crab and mayo, but the roll was delicious.

Here is the aforementioned burger. TWK PUB BURGER ($16). "Seared ground beef, house made pub cheese, caramelized onion aioli, pickled red onions, and TWK pickles on a toasted brioche bun with a side of French fries". The burger was a loosely packed patty with a nice sear on the outside. The pub cheese was an interesting touch. I must admit that the fries was the highlight, handmade and cooked perfectly.

The Waterford Kitchen is part of the Serenitee group of restaurants and the free offer this month for Rewards members was a free dessert at any of their 8 locations. The PEAR AND FIG CRISP ($9) looked really interesting. "Pecan crumble, bourbon caramel, Richardson’s butter crunch ice cream". It was delicious even if it was on the sweeter side for my taste.

The bar area is really pleasant, especially the high tables at the windows. The restaurant got really busy at lunch today.
