Royal India Bistro Lexington

The last time I went to Royal India Bistro in Lexington a nearby table has something that looked interesting for lunch.

It's a small restaurant but bright and inviting. They get quite busy at lunchtime.

You get delicious papads with chutneys.

The interesting dish was the Royal Mixed Appetizers ($10.95). "Vegetable pakora, vegetable samosa, aloo tikki, cheese pakora, chicken pakora, meat samosa, chicken kabob and fish pakora". The vegetable pakora was an onion pakora that was a bit dense in the middle. The vegetable samosa was fine. The aloo tikki (potato cake) was clearly reheated and dry. The cheese pakora has some sort of hard cheese, and I didn't like it at all. The chicken pakora was excellent. The meat samosa was very tasty but greasy. The chicken kabob had morphed into three pieces of tandoori chicken that were tasty but a bit dry. The fish pakora was excellent with flaky, moist fish. The best dish on the plate. Service was good with frequent water glass refills.
