W Cafe Woburn

W Cafe in Woburn opened not long ago in South Woburn. They do breakfast and lunch daily. Correction: They have been there for four years.

There is only on street parking.

There was a surprising amount of seating, including at the counter. I was delighted that I got a table right away, but I guess the rush was over at lunchtime.

I can't resist a hash so Hash & Eggs (9.95). "Two eggs any style over house-made corned beef hash, white or wheat toast, any home fries or shredded potatoes". Not sure what shredded potatoes are, but they are only available Mon-Fri. The unseasoned home fries were really nice and crispy. My over easy small eggs was steamed but cooked right. The hash was also unseasoned and lacked texture. Not sure what part the beef was from since it had a lot of gristle in it.

The had Scali bread, and that made me happy. The slices were very thin and really unevenly buttered. They were also only toasted on one side.

  1. This sounds like a terrible breakfast. Who only toasts bread on one side? And unseasoned food is unacceptable for me, along with grisly corned beef! Yuck. Thank you for the hones review, I was going to try this place, but not now.

  2. Why wouldn't you season potatoes? Agreed about the oddness of toasting only one side. Scali bread is not meant to be thin. Steamed eggs?? Sounds like they don't eat their own food. (st

    1. A little late to the party but, i am the owner and we do not “steam” our eggs. The potatoes are always seasoned nicely, you can also see on the last picture the seasoning that come off the potatoes. In the picture you can clearly see the scali bread toasted on both sides.

    2. No browning = steaming. You can clearly see that one side of the toast is almost white and the other side is brown. The potatoes were not seasoned.

  3. #1 he went for Lunch, not breakfast
#2 what do you mean Scali bread isnt meant to be sliced thin?
#3 Dont knock it until you try it. This place is a hidden gem and the only place in Woburn to get a real homemade breakfast. Everyone that works there is so kind and they remember the customers and their orders. This is the only place I'll go for breakfast. The prices are fantastic, the food is amazing, the staff is personable, its cozy, and I'm a huge supporter of small businesses. Go this weekend and try for yourself unless you prefer Bickfords garbage
