Toraya Arlington

Toraya in Arlington would look at home in any Tokyo suburb, it's such a typical Japanese place, and the inside is so cramped that the waitress has to walk sideways.

They have on-street parking and there is also parking behind the restaurant.

Again I went with the Chirashi ($11.95) for my lunch. It's an assortment of fresh fish, eggs and vegetables over sushi rice. At least that's what the menu said. There was some marinated mushroom underneath the fish and I guess that qualifies as a vegetable. The fish was VERY fresh and the rice was just right. I even enjoyed the mackerel. New to me was the tuna with the nori wrapped around it, the round roll in front.
