I went to Udupi in Nashua for lunch today, yes Indian again and vegetarian to boot. They are opening a non-vegetarian south Indian restaurant next door so they must be doing OK. It was very quiet at lunch today.
The buffet ($9.95) seems to get smaller every time I go here but what they have is usually very tasty.
The Rasam Soup was excellent, tart and spicy. Onion Pakora was crispy and tender.
You still get a dosa as part of the buffet, and I went for the Masala Dosa (spicy), and the potato filling was really tasty. The dosa itself was very soft and floppy, but the taste was fine. A proper dosa should be able to be picked up and eaten.
The Coconut Rice was really good with some heat added. The Ves Makhani in the first cup was nice and creamy, and the Dal Tadka was excellent. Aloo Palak (yellow potatoes) was tasty and flavorful, as opposed to the Aloo Fry Poriya(?) that was fairly bland. Some hits and some missed. Should be interesting when the new restaurant opens.
