I went back to Zoe's Chinese Restaurant in Somerville, to try a noodle soup. I had high hopes after having the Ma Po Tofu the last time I was here.
I tried the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup ($9.50) and it looked really good and I figured that since they also have a Beef Noodle Soup on the menu, that the meat would be good. It turned out that the beef was the normal bit and pieces with gristle and stuff attached. The broth looked good but was weak and despite being marked as spicy, there was almost no heat. The noodles were thin and a bit mushy, but there were fresh bamboo shoots in there and the spinach was fine. Not my best lunch.
