Cafe Dolce Winchester

Cafe Piazza Dolce in Winchester is located in a building that looks like it's about to slide down into the ravine behind it. They are located outside the town center towards Woburn.

Nice looking on the outside and I have driven by countless times and never really paid attention since the place looked so small. Little did I know what I have been missing.

The have a lunch deal where you van get half a panini and a salad or soup for $9. Today's soup was a chowder, so that was my choice. You get linen napkins and tablecloth, but there is glass on the table top. You also get your own bottle of ice water and I really like that. The chowder was excellent, thick and creamy and delicious. The "half" panini was so big that they cut it in half! This was the Super Panino (regularly $17). "Fresh tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil, prosciutto, provolone, mortadella, roasted peppers, and sopresatta". Excellent sandwich on very fresh bread. What a lovely lunch this was and the service was excellent.

As you enter, you see the bar seating and some tables.

The place to be is the gazebo. It was nicely heated and promptly filled up. It was nice and light and didn't get overly noisy, even when it was packed.
