FuGaKyu in Sudbury is a little sister restaurant to FuGaKyu in Lynnfield where I have had a number of very pleasant Saturday lunches. I was curious how this place would stack up. They are quite a bit cheaper.
A bit hard to find on the busy Rte 20. Being early I found out that they don't open until noon.
Just after the entrance the sushi chefs are hard at work.
The interior was very pleasant but having just opened, it was cold inside. Probably better during the week since they open at 11:30.
The bigger dining room. They got busy enough today at lunch to start seating people in here as well.
You get miso soup with lunch, no surprise there, but the linen napkins were absent here.
Mix and match Bento Box ($10). Pork Katsu, Sauteed Udon and Shumai. The Shumai was fine and hot and the pork was nice and tender with a crisp outside. The udon noodles were cold, unfortunately. A decent enough lunch and good to see that they had a decent lunch crowd.
