Yoki Medford

Yoki Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar in Medford is located in the popular Station Landing area with lots of free parking.

It's a big place with an entrance to the sushi bar here and an entrance to the bar area further down.

The bar area is really cool and the music was nice and discreet at least at lunchtime.

The sushi side.

All lunch entrees come with soup and salad. Miso soup, what can I say? It was hot. The salad was fresh with the standard miso based dressing.

A bit of a splurge again started with an order of Steamed Shumai ($5.25). "Ground shrimp dumplings served steamed or fried." They were very tasty and I really enjoyed the wasabi mayo dipping sauce.

They are really big on their specialty maki rolls and I must admit that the Red Sox Maki was tempting but decided to go with the Spicy Ramen Noodles ($8.95) instead. "Ramen noodles served with roast pork, fish cake, egg, corn, baby bok choy in our spicy house broth. Garnished with seaweed, scallions and sesame oil". Waiter, there's a broccoli in my soup! I guess it was there instead of the advertised baby bok choy. The broth was a little bit spicy and it was pleasant even if it was a bit light. Unfortunately, the egg was hard boiled but the fishcake was pleasant and the lone slice of pork belly was excellent. Not sure what the noodles were, not really a ramen noodle since it lacked the alkaline undertone that good ramen noodles have.

Nice dress code for the waitresses.
