Novara in Milton opened about 1 1/2 years ago and is located close to the sister restaurant Abby Park.
The entrance isn't very imposing, but this used to be a movie theater that didn't survive the arrival of the megaplexes. There is private parking behind the restaurant on Church Street, but Church Street is one way, so you have to catch it before you get to the restaurant.
Designer Steve Todisco created a beautiful interior making the best of the 23-foot ceilings. This is the dining area, and they have a pretty good sized display in the back. There is also a private function room to the right.
This is the other side of the humungous bar. Standing room only on the weekends. For the Sunday Brunch ($19) they have live jazz that was very enjoyable. They were very good.
Make your own Bloody Mary ($5 with brunch), and they had all the fixings, including big shrimp and bacon.
Some smoked salmon to start with? Excellent house lightly smoked salmon, again with all the trimmings.
Charcuterie board and fresh fruit.
The first trip to the buffet. I forgot to take a picture of my Bloody Mary, so I had already devoured the shrimp and bacon. Everything was good, but the salmon was excellent.
The brunch menu can be seen HERE, and it was pretty much spot on as far as the entrees go.
Secondi. The cheese tortellini was cheesy. How do you make Eggs Benedict Italian? You use prosciutto and mozzarella of course. The scrambled eggs were good and very nicely seasoned as was the sausage. The winner was Nonna's Meatballs made from a hand me down recipe with an excellent gravy.
My excellent waitress insisted that I try the Nutella French Toast and it was really good.
There were more desserts, but I only had room for some macaroons. Different fillings in all of the and they were soo good.
They have a nice outdoor seating that continues around the corner. There is also a firepit down there.
They have some specials going on, and you can find the current offerings on their website. What a pleasant restaurant with an excellent service.
Disclosure: I was invited as a media guest, but all opinions are my own.
