Red's Kitchen + Tavern Peabody

Red's Kitchen + Tavern in Peabody is located inches from the busy Rte 1 where everything is always on the wrong side.

This is a big place, but they have plenty of parking.

Up front, there are two U-shaped counters with dedicated waitresses, and that's where I ended up sitting. Everything was impeccably clean, and everything looked new. It was, however, on the colder side. The open kitchen can be seen in the background.

They open at 6 AM and have an enormous breakfast/lunch menu plus a couple of pages of daily specials. I picked the Crabcakes Benedict ($13.95) from one of the specials pages. The crabcakes were substantial, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The orange substance in the middle must have been a substitute for hollandaise sauce and didn't taste of much. Both the crab cakes and the potatoes could have done with some more seasoning. The potatoes looked good but were overcooked and mushy. Overall, not very impressed.

Pleasant and bright bar area.

The dining area and there was another dining room to down to the right. Service was pleasant, and the food arrived quickly.
