I had heard that the fried seafood at Dube's Seafood Restaurant in Salem was as good as the restaurants in Essex. It was time to find out.
I still don't know where they are located. There is free on-street parking and there is also plenty of parking behind the restaurant. There are three entrances, none are marked.
The back dining room.
The front dining room with a big bar. There is also a couple high tops to the left.
This is not a small order of onion rings, but a Mini order of Dube’s Famous Onion Rings ($6). They were fried well, and the batter was light, but the batter completely lacked seasoning.
I was vacillating between The Shrimp Roll ($14.75) or the Fried Shrimp Side ($15.75). The waitress suggested the side, as you get more shrimp. They are served with tartar sauce, cole slaw, bread and butter, hold the bread. I got ten decent sized shrimps that were fried nicely with a light batter, but it was the same story here, no seasoning. The tartar sauce was mostly mayo. The cole slaw was a vinegar based slaw that I really liked. It was almost a sauerkraut. Sorry for the blurry picture, but both pictures were out of focus. They were not very busy at lunch on this super nice Saturday.
