Turner's Melrose

I have had some really good lunches at Turner's Grill & Market in Melrose. They are located on the side of Main Street that has two-hour parking. They serve lunch seven days a week, except on special Sundays when only the dinner menu is available.

The big bar gets quite busy at lunch.

You get a warm roll, and today the butter was stone cold and not spreadable. I got a window two top with a view of Main Street.

It's Friday so some fish was in order. English Pub style Fish 'N Chips (12). "Bistro Beer Batter and Malt Vinegar". Hold the vinegar. Hold the stupid basket and give me a plate. Half and half of onion rings and fries. The onion rings were better on my last visit, the batter was much lighter. Still very good as were the fries. The fish was outstanding, cooked perfectly with a very thin batter that was super crispy. Their version of a tartar sauce is also excellent. The slaw on my last visit was way to buttermilky, but this version was really good with just a minimal amount of dressing. Service was pleasant.
